Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan play a pair of high school girls competing for the affections of Steve Smith on the Nov. 20 episode of Fox’s American Dad. The twist: Gellar’s character is secretly a robot, operated — 
paging Dr. Freud! — by Steve’s father, Stan. ”All Steve cares about is girls,” says Dad co-writer Jordan Blum, a self-described ”die-hard Buffy fan.” ”So Stan decides to use the CIA avatar program to put his mind into a beautiful 15-year-old girl avatar.” And you thought Sunnydale High was weird.
